Shulin Dist., New Taipei City– February 23, 2026–Everlight Electronics Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Everlight”) filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Seoul Semiconductor Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “SSC”) in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas Marshall Division on February 13, 2026. The defendant is a LED electronic component manufacturer. Everlight alleges that SSC has infringed upon its US flip-chip patent, US Patent No. 7,554,126, and that the infringing products are specific automotive LED products sold by SSC.
Everlight claims that SSC’s automotive LED products and/or high-power LED products such as the WICOP HF Series modules infringe its US patent. The correlation between SSC’s LED products and Everlight’s patent is as follows:

Everlight’s US 7,554,126 patent relates to LED flip-chip and packaging processes, which is a key technology for the automotive lighting market. By adjusting the area of the N/P electrodes, the technology achieves excellent adhesion between the LED chip and solder, providing high heat dissipation and packaging reliability. This technology is suitable for high-power lighting, displays, and other fields. Below is a three-dimensional schematic diagram of the LED flip-chip and packaging technology of Everlight’s US Patent No. 7,554,126:

Regarding US Patent No. 7,554,126, Everlight holds a patent family in countries and regions including the United States, Japan, and China.
Everlight states that SSC’s automotive LED products have utilized Everlight’s US patent No. 7,554,126 with flip-chip technology. This patent is applicable not only to automotive LED products but also covers multiple fields such as general lighting, filaments, UVC, CSP, backlighting, flashlights, and Mini/Micro LED.
Everlight reiterates that the primary purpose of patent rights is to protect the results of research and development and to encourage industrial development. In response to illegal infringement in the market, Everlight will take legal action when necessary and will not show leniency, in order to uphold its consistent position of respecting intellectual property rights.
