Shulin Dist., New Taipei City– September 25, 2025–We would like to clarify the recent final ruling issued by the Korean court concerning Everlight Electronics Co., Ltd. (“Everlight”). Please be assured that this matter does not affect Everlight’s products or patented technologies in any way.
The Korean court’s ruling does not conform to legal principles and lacks proper jurisdiction. Importantly, the court has confirmed that several items alleged by Seoul Semiconductor (SSC) do not constitute trade secrets, and that Everlight neither induced nor participated in any employee’s misconduct.
The decision was based solely on the finding that Everlight’s employee orientation process for new hires did not fully comply with certain Korean regulations, resulting in a fine of approximately NT$1.3 million. This issue is unrelated to the quality of Everlight’s products or the achievements of our R&D efforts.
We must also point out that some media headlines, such as those suggesting “theft of world-first technology”, are seriously misleading and inconsistent with the actual court ruling. These reports overlook the court’s confirmation that trade secret requirements were not met and have unfairly harmed Everlight’s reputation.
We emphasize once again that this case has no impact on Everlight’s products or patented technologies. Guided by our core values of innovation, excellence, and integrity, Everlight will continue to provide the highest-quality LED products and solutions to our customers worldwide.
Sincerely,
Everlight Electronics Co., Ltd.
